Mother's Day Card Tutorial

Hi all,
This is going to be a very busy week for my blog as there will be a blog hop on April 2nd to celebrate the launch of the NEW MINI catalogue from Stampin' Up!. So drop by on Friday to see over 50 wonderful projects using products from the Mini catalogue.

Now I am going to show you how we made a gorgeous Mother's Day card at my first card class (if you would like to join us, the next one is on the 5th of April, see here for more info.). This tutorial is especially for a friend who was unable to make it. Hope you find this useful Karen!

The card colours used were Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, and Whisper White. The Designer Series paper is also Pumpkin Pie.

First cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie, 29cm by 10.5cm. Then score and fold it along 7.75cm and 14.5cm.

Then cut a piece of Wild Wasabi, 10cm by 7cm and a piece of pumpkin pie DSP 9.5cm by 6.5cm. Mount on each other and then stick on the top front like in the picture.

Then cut another piece of DSP13.5cm by 9.5cm. Get a piece of Whisper White satin ribbon, about 15cm long and tie a loose not in the middle.

Then stick in the middle of the DSP, folding each side to the back of the Pumpkin Pie.

Then get the large floral stamp from the Wedding Sweet set and stamp it on a piece of Whisper White 12.5cm by 6.5cm. I used Old Olive ink and stamped at an angle.

I also used the scallop corner to give it a different edging. This was then stuck on the another piece of Wild Wasabi 13cm by 7cm.

Just before sticking this, remember to check whether it will close flat so that it can fit into it's envelope (then stick).
Now using any scrap whisper white, stamp 2 butterflies, using the Butterfly Prints set. The ink I used was So saffron and Pumkin Pie. Then using the Butterfly Punch, punch them out.

Then bend this a little in the middle and add a little diamond dazzle for a sparkly body and stick onto the branch stamp.

Then stamp a Mother's Day greeting (mine came form the Occasional Greetings Set - this is a versatile set with eater wishes, Happy Father's Day and more stamps all in one!). Then your card should sit up.

Hope you like this and as always I love reading your comments so please leave some!
Until tomorrow, have a good evening and thank you for visiting.
