A male order card

Hello everyone... enjoying the sunshine? Isn't it lovely!  I was asked to do a card for a male that was going to be 43. So I used the Motorcycle stamp from the New Mini Catalogue, using a technique someone did as their swap at Peterborough training a few weeks back. I love the way it has turned out. I also stamped on the Twill Tape, which was a great idea Monica shared with us, I would never have thought of it. The burgundy was my own card, but the rest is Night of Navy, Very Vanilla and Whisper White. The Ink used was Real Red and the circles were done using the Circles #2 die for the Big Shot, also available in the mini catalogue.

A Special Birthday Card

Hello again, I thought I would post this early so I can enjoy the sunshine later. My niece in Malta, Kristina will be 12 this week and so I have made her a very special card. I got the idea from my very talented upline Caroline, I've even used similar colours as all girls like pink. I think this card is one of the reasons that I bought the Top Note Die for the Big Shot.

The main colours I used were Melon Mamba and Whisper White. I love this Top Note...I wonder what I can do next with it...
Until next time, enjoy the sunshine.

Easter is near...and so I have been making cards for everyone...

Hello everyone again, what a lovely day it's been...have had a productive day today, not creatively but domestically.

Here is a card I made for my niece Kristina for Easter, my dad was supposed to take it to Malta with him but forgot it at mine, so I am hoping I can take it down to the post office, along with her birthday card, as she will be 12 on the 21st of Apri

I love the Sweet Treat Cups and now that I have sussed how to use them I can't stop. I have a tutorial if anyone would like to know how I did this card, just email me and I'll email you a copy. I filled them with the 'teeny-weeny eggs' from the local supermarket and as soon as she'll eat them, she'll see this lovely chick smiling back at her!

Ingredients for this card:
Card: Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight; Pumpkin Pie Writer mark
Stamp Set: Build a Blossom, A Good Egg, Fast and Fun Notes
Punch: Build a Blossom, 1-3/4 circle

Hope you like this, I will be entering it into the Easter Simply Stampin' Challenge too.

Easter is near...

Oh I love Spring and Easter, I love of the blossom and greenery and this week I think I'm going to overwhelme you with lots of Easter projects. The first is this lovely Easter Egg basket. On Thursday, I went round Caroline, my upline where we had a share and play session, we all took our stuff from that we had bought from the mini and just made and played lots! It was fab, before we knew, we realised we had been doing that for over 5 hours!!

I used the Sizzix Scallop Envelope Die and the Big Shot, to cut out 4 envelopes. I used Bashful Blue card, the egg stamp from the Nature Walk, which Helen brought and the flowers on top of the handle are from A Good Egg Set. I ran the scallop envelopes through the polka dots embossing folder before sticking together, this is becoming my favourite embossing folder. I hope you like it, it is so easy...I must say that I pinched the idea of the pastel eggs from Caroline, I wasn't sure at first but I love it now! I have also entered this into the Simply Stampin' Challenge, as their theme for this week is Easter, which I love!

What do you think?
See you tomorrow for another Easter themed project!

Lots of training - making and sharing together!

Hello everyone, first wee of the Easter holidays...where has it gone! As per my last post, last Saturday we had some training with the lovely Monica and Bekka in Peterborough and we all had a fantastic time creating wonderful cards and 3D projects, chatting, drinking tea and eating cake, sharing ideas and best of all swapping our little cards.

These were my swaps, funnily enough Caroline my upline, had the same idea to use tea bags! Great minds think alike I said! So here are my swaps:

Here are the wonderful projects we made, all using products from the mini catalogue, I still have a few, so if you would like one I can send you a copy FREE, just email me at head-over-heels-by-dlm@hotmail.com your address and it will be on your doorstep in no time!

The first one uses the beautiful Nature Walk Stamp Set,

The next uses the Owl Punch and the Top Note Die to cut that wonderful shape which is used as a background:

Hope you can see the Owl is popping out of a box, maybe I should have made him a little happier, he looks slightly confused...bless him!

The last card we made would be idea for a men's birthday card, using the Motorcycle and the Champagne Glass Glitter:

I loved the way we stamped the sentiment onto the Twill, a lovely effect I will be using over and over again!

These are the 3D projects, I love this Easter hanging basket, we used the Scallop Circle Die and then embossed it using the the Vintage Wallpaper and of course the Big Shot.

The last 3D project is so cute and would be ideal for a new mum or nan to carry in her purse, as it's a mini album - it would be great with pictures of a new born in!

If you would like to ask any questions about these projects, please feel free to do so by leaving a comment, I love reading them! Here is a mini slideshow of the day!

Easter Card & Treat Box - Card Class

Hello everyone and what a scorcher of a day! It has been lovely and warm. Last night was my second card making class and we were all busy making this wonderful Easter Card using the Sweet Treat Cups and a 2 4 6 8 box.

There were 5 new class members and although the card was a little tricky, they all made it beautifully, along with their boxes. We all worked hard and enjoyed creating these beautiful treats.

These are some of their creations, some were so chuffed with what they created, it's such a wonderful feeling going away with something you've made from scratch. Being a primary teacher, now I know how the children feel when they ask to take their work home and I reply "Can I put it on the wall first!".

This one was made by the lovely Caroline.

Barbara enjoyed making these 2, aren't they gorgeous, I think the stem and leaves are perfect.

This was made by the wonderful Sacha, who now is also hooked on Stampin' Up!
And Karen below, was just over the moon with her creation, she just didn't think she could make something like this, but with the right products, co-ordinating colours, stamps and punches - it is!

It was a wonderful evening, full of laughter, creativity and my Spiced Apple Cake, which went down a treat. I cannot wait until the next one of the 3rd of May, where we'll be making a Wedding Card and acceptance card. If you would like to join us, email me at head-over-heels-by-dlm@hotmail.com
I have a tutorial for the above card, so if you would like to know how we did it, just email me.
Until next time, let's hope the sun keeps shining!

New Mini Catalogue Blog Hop

Good morning everybody, it's a wonderful sunny day here in Chelmsford, Essex - I wonder how long it will last for!
Well, I have been making a few projects and I am going to show two of my favourite. The first uses the Big Shot, and the die I used is the Scallop Envelope Die.
Here is the Big Shot, for those of you who aren't too sure what it is, I will be writing post about it in a couple of days, to tell you about my offer and it's versatility.

It seems small to start off with but there are so many different projects you can do with it, from the basket shown below to a little wallet on the front of a card (which i hope to upload later, so please pop back!)

The next also uses the Big Shot for the background, but this is an embossing folder, called Vintage Wallpaper. I then used the fabulous Build a Blosson Stamp Set, which comes with a coordinating Punch. Here is this little card.

To see more beautiful projects using products from the New Mini Catalogue (which you can find in the sidebar, or send me an email at head-over-heels-by-dlm@hotmail.com and I will send you a copy), go to Zambezi . I will be uploading a tutorial for the basket later this weekend! In the meantime, enjoy blog hopping and I look forward to reading any of your comments.
