More Christmas cards...

Another Christmas card here using a non Christmas Stamp Set and a favourite of mine and some customers...Apothecary Art!

We used the matching Label Framelits Die, to cut out the image and used the Boho Blossom punch to create some Ponsietta flowers to go round the wreath.

I used some retired Designer Series Paper (DSP). and a little Old Olive Satin Ribbon under the Sentiment (if you can see it) which comes from Curly Cute Stamp Set.
The colours used Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Old Olive. I also used the Stampin' Write (markers) to colour in the flowers.

I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and I will see you in the New Year with a something new...until then enjoy the rest of 2012!

My own Christmas Cards...

I needed to these quick as needed to send them to Malta and as usual left it rather late so these cards are simple with a personalised twist: a photo of our lovely daughter Lily.

This is a snowy scene, I must say I got all excited when it snowed a few days ago but found it incredibly hard to take a photo of Lily, as I was on my own and use the timer on the camera!

Materials used were: Night of Navy Card, Whisper White Ink and the Labels Framelits for the pretty frame cut out and Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set.

The next one uses the Peekaboo Die, to create windows for photos of notes. This is going to be a great one for scrapbooking.
This is the front:

I used some retired designer series paper and the rest is: Lucky Limade and Real Red card. The Holly Stamp from Easy Events, Peekaboo Die and Pearls.

Once you open you'll see...

Our lovely Lily (sorry the pic isn't that great!).

Until next time, with another Christmas Card,
Take care and keep warm,
D xx

First Private Class...a Christmas Theme

I thought I would launch my new 'Private Classes' before Christmas and my very first class was for a group of girls who met through the NCT. They wanted something for their little ones to send to their new daddies and here is the one I came up with, but have a look at the different takes on each one, including  'what I call Reindolf one!'.

We had to do it in batches whilst some of the mums looked after the babies.

You can see that the mums really enjoyed it with the concentration on their face.

These are a few of their cards...

You can see that someone opted for a Reindolf! But also look at the beaming smile on their faces! They are going to have a bunch of happy daddies.

One of the mums couldn't make but was able to buy a kit to make at home.  Kits of this class are available at £5.

If you would like a Private Class, such as this one, please get in touch. The cost of one like this (1 personalised card) is £6 for a minimum of 6 people.

Watch the private class page for more details.

In the meantime, ta ta from me and I'll see you next with some more Christmas Cards!

More Christmas cards...

OMG I hear you say, three updates in a week!! Well I have managed to schedule these posts as Lily is having a nap!

Here is another card we made at class, a rather simple but classy card, using the Heart of Christmas stamp, with the Label Framelits Die. The colours used here were Chocolate Chip and Real Red. The different coloured writing was done using the Stampin' write in Read Red. This was done by first stamping the whole image in Chocolate Chip, then with a wet wipe just cleaning the part you would like in a different colour, voila one stamp yet a variety of ways of using it!

I do have a couple of more cards to show you but I hope to make a couple of gifts and my own Christmas cards over the next few days using Christmassy photos of Lily, so if they do turn out how I imagine them to, I will share these with you next!

Thanks for popping by,

Christmas Cards continued...

As promised here is another Christmas card we made at class. We used some retired Christmas designer series paper I had and used the Scensational Seasons Stamp Set and matching Holiday Framelits Die for the Tree and Star, Labels Framelits Die for the red background. The presents came from a new non-Christmas stamp set called Patterned Party.

The colour combos here were: Lucky Limade, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise  and the Red Glitter card for the star.

Another Christmas card will be shared over the next few days...
Thanks for visiting,

Cards for Christmas...

Here we are again, Christmas round the corners and crafters frantically making their cards in time to send before the last post. I'm afraid to say I am one of those who always have good intentions, round about July time to make as many cards as I possibly can but always end up doing something else! So watch out next July as there will be a 'Stamp a Stack' to get those Christmas cards ready!

Well, if you were one of the crafters who attend my monthly class you would have at least 5 done, including a little gift box. Over the next few days I will be sharing with you the cards we made.

The first is a lovely simple card using the 'Lovely as a Tree' set. If you scroll back I have used this stamp set quite a lot for different occasions, again another versatile set that comes out when I'm not sure where to start.

We have used Not Quite Navy Card and ink, stamping the trees in Whisper White Ink and using the diamond glitter for the snowy mountain feel!

Pop back soon to see another card we made at class. If you are interested in joining us, the next class will be on the 8th of January 2013.
Until next time take care,
D xx

Stampin' Up! Party

Have you ever wondered what a Stampin' Up Party is? Well here I'm going to tell you a little about it as well as share some thank you cards I made for my customers.

If you want to spend an evening with friends and family, crafting enjoying a drink or two or even a cuppa and cake, and earn yourself FREE Stampin Up products, well a Stanpin' Up! party is for you.

All you need to do is get a number of people together who enjoy crafting and I'll do the rest. I'll turn up and have a 'make & take' for you, this is usually a card that everyone can make and take home, I'll show you a technique and usually make a 3D item for the hostess.   If you would like to have your own Stampin' Up! party, please do get in touch to book a time (email me at head-over-heels-by-dlm@hotmail.com).

Here is the make and take we made, followed by a few photos of the ladies enjoying themselves.

We used the wonderful Scentsational Seasons bundle. The Heart of Christmas stamp set, some gorgeous paper and the best of all was the Sugar & Spice embossing powder on the gingerbread man. This filled the house with a lovely Christmassy Gingerbready smell!

We had a wonderful evening and Michelle, the hostess, earnt herself £50 to spend in the catalogue as well as an item at a discount of 50%, not to mention a whole set of inkpads! Well done Michelle.

As promised here are the thank you cards I made.

Here I used the Mixed Bunch Stamp & Curly Cute Stamp Set, with two coordinating colours - Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party! I hope they like them!

Now that I've  got into the swing of things, I will be updating my blog more often. Now I'd better start preparing for card class on Tuesday while Lily's still napping.
Until next time, thanks for dropping by,
D xx

I'm still crafting...just with a new addition!

Hello all,

In case you're wondering, we had a little girl, who we named Lily. She's wonderful, I couldn't have hoped for a better baby, so calm and content! I'm lovin' it! I even get time to craft, as in the photo below.

A lot has happened in the SU world, they have two new catalogues out at the moment. The main, annual catalogue, which is now thicker and better than ever, as it has become more in line with the American version. Here's a picture of the front cover, but you can order your own copy by clicking on the paypal button on your right hand side. Or if like me you can't wait to have a look inside, click on the image below to download a copy.

However, at the moment we have another catalogue out, called Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue, which has replaced the minis we used to get. Here is a picture of it, again, drop a line if you would like to receive a copy, drop me a line. I'm charging a £1, to cover P&P, I'm still trying to get the paypal button sorted for that one, but will be there shortly. In the meantime, click on the link to see inside!

This is full of lush Christmas and other seasonal stamp sets, designer paper and more...I will be showing you a few projects from this over the next few days. However, if you do see anything that takes your fancy please get in touch and I can place an order for you, so you too can make beautiful handmade Christmas cards and gifts!

Thanks for dropping by, pop back soon,
D xx

I've not disappeared, just been a little preoccupied!

Hi all,
Sorry it has been a while...and the main reason for this, for those who don't know, is that we're expecting our first little bundle...in fact due in a couple of weeks. So I have had a little time on my hands this week and have started to tidy up my craft room and take photos of all the projects that we have made during Card Class and Scrapbook Class (which I have taken a break from until November).

Here are a couple of photos of our scrapbook pages that we have made...and I promised to upload more in the next few days.

This scrapbook page uses a couple of products from the mini catalogue, including First Prints and the new Framelits.

As you've probably noticed the theme here was Father's Day. This one uses the Everyday Enchantment papers that are still on sale, if anyone would like to order a pack, please get in touch as I will be putting an order through in the next few days.

Will post another tomorrow,
D xx

New Summer Mini Blog Hop...

And it's here... Wow, packed full of wonderful new products, accessories and ideas. I am now going to show you my sneak peak from Sunday in full and another card, we will be making the first 2 at card class tonight.
If you've come over from Christa, welcome, wasn't her projects lovely, thank you for sharing.

So in the following projects I have used the new stamp set Apothecary Art and the match Framelits Dies called Labels collections (see page 16 and 17 of the New Summer Mini here).  These are wonderful and so versatile, as you can see we've made a card and a matching gift box with some notelets in.

This is a card we will be making using this wonderful Stamp Set. The colours I've used are Pool Party, Calypso Coral (turning into one of my favourite) and Whisper White. I used the embossing folder for the background and coloured in the flowers with our marker pens.

This is very much using similar colours: Calypso Coral, Whisper White but with Lucky Lime. I used the Berry Blossom  Papers that were in the Spring mini, which we sadly said goodbye to, yesterday!

This is just a very quick and simplae card using the same Stamp Set, along with Calypso Coral and Daffoldil Delight.

If you would like to get your hands on any of the products used or anything else in the Summer Mini, I am offering FREE postage on all orders that can be either picked up from me or can be delivered locally (Chelmsford area). So do get in touch as this offer runs out on the 14th of May.

So back to the Blog Hop, carry on getting loads of ideas of projects that you can do using products from the New Summer Mini, by popping over to Laura .
Enjoy and pop back soon,
D xx

Perfect match!

Hello everyone, I must apologise for not updating my blog sooner, I had a few things I had to sort out. Today I bring you a very easy gift box, which I cased from Monica Gayle. I have used this bag to hold a little bottle of wine and chocolates for some work colleagues who have helped me out during the last week.

I love this colour combo of Elegant Eggplant and Pumpkin Pie. I actually used some retired DSP in pumpkin pie and the scallop envelope die, along with the Fun Flowers die on page 129.

I will be back tomorrow with some very exciting news so watch this space. In the meantime if you would like to order anything from either the Catalogue & Idea Book 2011/12 or the Mini catty, please get in touch as you can still benefit from the Sale-a-bration. Which means if you spend £45 or more you can choose either a stamp set or a pack of designer series paper. Click on the right hand side button to have a look or get in touch at head-over-heels-by-dlm@hotmail.com.
See you tomorrow and thank you for visiting!
